It’s been an interesting and productive start for The 1958. We are just a passionate working-class group of reds who decided enough was enough and to try and make a stand for our great club, it’s history, culture and traditions.
A club that has been left to rot, standards and culture is in the gutter due to the greed and manipulation of our owners. We need an ownership structure that uses its own business assets to strengthen the value of the club and not an ownership structure that uses the club to strengthen its own business assets.
We will continue to be fearless in attempting any tactic that is peaceful & legal to raise awareness and shine the lens on these parasites. We do this in the name of what is right, the cause and to wrestle our football club back for the next generation. We will always be honest, open and transparent in our messaging. We are not in this for agendas or any ulterior motives. This will become apparent over time.
Below is a reminder of what us, the United fan base have achieved so far,
- A self-funded movement with growing support built from nothing in 2 months
- 3 successful well attended protests and importantly peaceful ones
- Worldwide press and media coverage highlighting our reasons and cause
- Closure of ground facilities and increased police presence damaging sponsors and profits
- Uniting a fractured fan base which we will continue to do
Not everything we try will appear immediately successful but remember, we said this would be a long uphill battle to rid ourselves of these parasites. History tells us this.
We will continue to call out any groups or individuals we feel are in it for their own self interests. For now, we have an open-door policy for anyone, our DM’s are always open. This may change in the future and all we can say on this matter currently.
We thank all our brothers and sisters who continue to make a stance against these leeches. Be proud of yourselves. We all need to continue the fight. We have plans and announcements for the summer and into the new season. The 1958 will continue to apply constant, relentless pressure. Look after each other and keep believing.
